Description:

This 1989 Ford Mustang LX convertible has been modified with a front shock tower brace, a frame brace, lowering springs, chrome headers, Flowmaster mufflers, 3.55:1 rear end gearing, 16″ five-spoke wheels, a Kenwood CD stereo, and a Hurst short-throw shifter. It is finished in Bright Red over Medium Gray cloth with patterned inserts and is powered by a 302ci V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, a limited-slip differential, air conditioning, and cruise control.

Interior:

The cabin features articulated front seats and a rear bench upholstered in Medium Gray cloth with patterned inserts. A Hurst short-throw shifter and a Kenwood CD stereo have been added, and additional amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows and door locks. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level.

Exterior:

The car is finished in Bright Red and features a black soft top, black-finished side mirror caps, and a luggage rack. Paintwork is noted on the front-left fender and driver-side door. Photos detailing imperfections are viewable in the gallery.

Drivetrain:

The 302ci V8 was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, and it has reportedly been outfitted with chrome headers, 2.5″ exhaust piping, and Flowmaster mufflers. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that has been fitted with a King Cobra clutch. The limited-slip differential has 3.55:1 gearing. The transmission fluid was changed in April 2022. The 16″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxies T1R tires, which show date codes from 2018. Modifications include a front shock tower brace, a frame brace, and lowering springs. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
